A Sport Fishing Center at the Heart of the Mangrove
The fishing center is based in Abéné, right inside the Marine Protected Area. Our boats leave from here every morning for the Fosse au Monstre, the Kabadio river mouth or the Bliss river, in search of threadfin, jack or red snapper.

The Fishing Center
3 open-hull 7.50 m boats (40 and 75 HP Yamaha), 4 anglers maximum per boat, 12 anglers maximum in total. Tackle supplied, sinkers cast on site.

A Tailor-Made Fishing Stay
Every one of our packages can also be built à la carte: length of stay, number of anglers, mix of techniques, dates outside the main season. Patrick Tourneur, the guide himself, builds the programme with you by phone or WhatsApp.
That flexibility is useful for a mixed group of anglers and companions, or to schedule a fishing stay around a birdwatching extension in Gambia-Casamance.
The Center's Specialty
Predator Fishing Stay by Boat
The threadfin (Polydactylus quadrifilis), the jack and the red snapper are the fighters this stay is after. Vertical soft-lure fishing, in the depths of the Fosse au Monstre or the Kabadio river mouth, is the go-to technique.
Every Technique
Multi-Fishing Stay, Boat and Surf Casting
This stay combines boat fishing, at sea and in the mangrove, with surf casting sessions from the coastline. It's the most complete package to explore every technique practised from Abéné.
Shore Fishing
Shore Fishing Stay and River-Mouth Bivouac
Miles of coastline where you can practise surf casting near productive river mouths. Guitarfish, jack and threadfin are all within reach from the shore. Lure fishing from the beach is also possible: soft lures, swimbaits, tenya rigs or poppers, depending on the spot and the tide.
A night's bivouac on a river mouth is offered as an option, for a complete change of scenery.

What does a fishing stay in Senegal cost?
The rate depends on the number of anglers, the package (all-inclusive, predator fishing, à la carte...) and the length of stay. Every request gets a tailor-made quote, sent within 24 hours.
What are the main fishing centers in Senegal?
Offshore big-game fishing is mostly practised around Dakar-Ngor and Saly, while the Sine Saloum and Casamance are the reference areas for mangrove and bolong fishing. Our center is based in Abéné, in Casamance.
Which package should I choose for a first fishing stay?
The all-inclusive stay (7 days, 6 outings, full board and drinks included) is the simplest starting point. Anglers with more experience often go straight for the predator fishing stay.
How long does a fishing stay last?
The standard is 7 days and 6 fishing outings. The all-inclusive promo package applies from 15 days, with a lower daily rate.
Can fishing and birdwatching be combined during the stay?
Yes. Several anglers extend their stay with a birdwatching add-on, or bring a non-fishing companion along for the boat outings to watch birds.
Is fishing tackle provided?
Yes, all tackle is provided and sinkers are cast on site. You're welcome to bring your own gear as well.

“After more than 20 years travelling across Casamance, I can say with certainty that I've found the ideal spot: Hôtel Atlantic in Abéné.
The setting: the hotel sits right on the sea in absolute calm. The rooms are spacious, spotless, with en-suite bathrooms. It's the perfect base after a long day on the water.
The playground: we fish in beautiful bolongs, right in the heart of a protected bird sanctuary. The wildlife and scenery are simply outstanding.
The fishing: keen on vertical fishing with Shads, we have memorable outings here. The king of the place for us remains the threadfin and its legendary fight, but the area is also full of barracuda, red and black snapper, guitarfish and parrotfish — and if luck is on our side, fine chases of jack.
The team: a huge thank you to Adama, Kadie, JB and Moussa, who work hard in the kitchen to give us delicious food every day.
